Kansas City Chiefs C Creed Humphrey is known as one of the best centers in the NFL since entering the league out of the University of Oklahoma back in 2021.
As a back-to-back Super Bowl champion and Pro Bowler, you might think his game is as flawless as they come, but he's still got some work to do in a specific aspect. During the 2023 NFL season, Humphrey had issues with his snaps being too low.
This wasn't a one-time occurrence, popping up multiple times throughout the year. It became very apparent during Super Bowl LVIII against the San Francisco 49ers when Humphrey rolled the final offensive snap in regulation to Patrick Mahomes. It didn't allow Mahomes enough time to get through his progressions and find a wide-open Rashee Rice to end the game in regulation. Many suspect this occurrence was what led to a heated argument between Mahomes and Rice on the sidelines.
What will it take for Humphrey to fix this issue? Chiefs HC Andy Reid was asked about it during his combine podium session on Tuesday.

Reid didn't get into specifics, but he stressed that he's not worried about this particular issue. While it did come up in the biggest game of the year, it didn't cost them the game.
“Creed (Humphrey) is a diligent, diligent player," Reid said. "He’s a great player, so he’ll take care of that, I’m not worried about that. He’s a relentless worker, and we’ll get all of that taken care of.”
Humphrey, of course, has the reputation of being an elite athlete, but what seems to be glossed over is what takes to become an elite athlete. That's a lot of hard work and discipline.
Reid is never going to throw a player under the bus. That's just not who he is as a head coach. If he's confident the issue will get fixed, then it's not something fans should worry about.
