The Los Angeles Chargers are shaping up to be a team to be reckoned with.

Even before they added Khalil Mack and J.C. Jackson on defense, they already had a loaded offense led by quarterback Justin Herbert.

He’s not alone on that side because Austin Ekeler has been a versatile target.

Mike Williams, Jalen Guyton, and Keenan Allen are shaping up to become a devastating receiving corps.

But while Allen has been consistent throughout the years, he couldn’t stand a recent tweet from Pro Football Focus

PFF asked fans about the most underrated player in football.

While being with the likes of Hunter Renfrow, Tyler Lockett, and Diontae Johnson is still a great company, Allen begged to disagree about his “underrated” tag.

To which he responded, “The fact that I keep getting put on this post let’s everybody know that it’s for click bait…100catches, 1k yds the pass 5 years, and 5 pro bowls straight to follow up …check your top 5 list and see if they have done the same. Stop creating a perspective and show the facts.”

Checking Allen’s Claim

The former California standout is a five-time Pro Bowler from 2017 to 2021.

However, there are forgivable misses for his other claims.

In 2018, he only had 97 receptions, three less than a century.

Two years later, Allen had 992 receiving yards, eight short of a thousand.

Those shortcomings are forgivable because it isn’t far from the target.

But more importantly, Allen has been a model of consistency over the last half-decade.

He only missed three games and averaged double-digit yards per reception in five years.

Therefore, it’s hard to claim that Allen is underrated because he continues to perform, regardless of the team’s quarterback.

His highlight reel might not be extensive, but he gets the job done.
