“I can promise you he's working very hard, early in the morning he's here. He's attacking his rehab. When he's ready, he'll be ready."

That’s what Kevin Stefanski said of Nick Chubb and where he stands at as he works his way back from a major knee injury that he suffered in Week 2 of last season.

Stefanski provided additional updates on Deshaun Watson and other members of the team working their way back from injuries suffered last season. The Browns have begun their voluntary offseason workout program as of Monday.

Watson and the Browns are going to stick to the medicinal plan of the doctors, Stefanski said. He also said that he’s where he needs to be and doing all of the things that he needs to do. The team has no intentions of rushing the starting quarterback to get the offense going at any point this offseason or camp until he is ready to go.

"Obviously, we'll make sure that we're smart about Deshaun's rehab and focus on getting him ready for the season,” Stefanski said. “We're not going to speed Deshaun up just to get the offense sped up."

Right tackle Jack Conklin was lost in Week 1 of last season and both tackles Jedrick Wills Jr. and Dawand Jones were gone by the end of the season. Stefanski said that they all were doing great in their processes.

Additionally, free-agent addition running back Nyheim Hines is rehabbing from his torn ACL. Hines is not ready to get back on the field yet but will be an interesting weapon for the Browns with the new kickoff rule.

Injuries riddled the 2023 season for the Browns and they’re still paying the price of working to get back healthy at some very key positions.
