Kicker Josh Lambo sues Jaguars for Urban Meyer-led hostile work environment

Free agent kicker Josh Lambo filed a lawsuit against his former team, the Jacksonville Jaguars, alleging that former head coach Urban Meyer created a hostile work environment, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

In December, Lambo told the Tampa Bay Times that he was kicked by Meyer prior to a preseason game in August.

"I'm in a lunge position. Left leg forward, right leg back," Lambo told the Times. "... Urban Meyer, while I'm in that stretch position, comes up to me and says, 'Hey Dips--t, make your f--king kicks!' And kicks me in the leg.

"It certainly wasn't as hard as he could've done it, but it certainly wasn't a love tap. Truthfully, I'd register it as a five (out of 10). Which in the workplace, I don't care if it's football or not, the boss can't strike an employee. And for a second, I couldn't believe it actually happened. Pardon my vulgarity, I said, 'Don't you ever f--king kick me again!' And his response was, 'I'm the head ball coach, I'll kick you whenever the f--k I want.'"

Lambo, 31, was released by the Jaguars in October 2021 after beginning the regular season 0-for-3 on field goal attempts and missing two extra points as well. Meyer was fired for cause in December after a 2-11 start to his first season with the team that included several controversies.

According to the Times, Lambo is seeking his $3.5 million salary in the lawsuit plus damages for emotional distress. He also says that the Jaguars violated Florida's Private Sector Whistle Blower's Act for cutting him after he reported the August incident to the team.

Lambo briefly spent time on the Pittsburgh Steelers' practice squad in November, but was released and is now a free agent.
