Kicker Justin Tucker and the Baltimore Ravens agreed to a contract extension on Monday, that will keep the most accurate kicker in NFL history in Baltimore through 2027. Tucker was set to become a free agent at the end of the 2022 season, but the four-year extension worth $24 million, $17.5 million guaranteed will keep Tucker in Baltimore until he is 38.

Tucker’s extension makes him the highest paid kicker in the NFL, and deservedly so. Since entering the league in 2012 after going undrafted out of the University of Texas. Tucker is arguably the greatest kicker of all time and has been as close to perfect as any kicker in NFL history. In nine seasons as the Ravens kicker, Tucker has made 91.1% of his field goals, with his best season coming in 2021 when he made a career high 94.6% of his field goal attempts, including a now NFL record 66-yard game winning field goal in week three against the Detroit Lions.

Tucker has yet to miss a field goal inside of 30-yards, and has never missed more then seven field goals in a season. Tucker, has also been automatic when it comes to extra points making 99% of his extra point attempts in his career. Year to year Tucker continues to impress the NFL world appearing to be inhuman at times with his incredible accuracy and and strength to seemingly make kicks from any distance. A super bowl champion, a five-time Pro Bowler, and five-time All-Pro, Tucker has been the best player at his position over the last decade and a model of consistence at a position that relies so heavily on it. While most fans often take special teams for granted. The fans in Baltimore know just how important Tucker is to the teams overall success.
