A locker room video shared on social media by Chicago Bears running back Tarik Cohen earlier this week accidentally showed Kyle Long nude. Despite it being safe to assume that most people would find being shown in the buff quite embarrassing, the Bears offensive lineman sure seems to have a great sense of humor about the situation.
The scandalous scene played out following the Bears’ 31-15 dismantling of the Redskins on Monday night. The video in question was live-streamed by Cohen on Instagram, and it inadvertently featured an unclothed Long in the background.
Bears head coach Chuck Nagy seriously addressed the situation on Wednesday, saying that Cohen “feels bad and is apologetic and embarrassed that it happened.”
Long, on the other hand, approached the issue from a far more whimsical perspective, as evidenced by his pun-tastic take on his starring — not to mention revealing — role in the locker room video.
“Embarrassing?” Long joked, per Jason Lieser of the Chicago Sun-Times. “Em-bare-ass-ing!”
Long, all kidding aside, also explained how Cohen reached out to him once the Bears back realized what he shared on social media.
“Had I known that I would be full nude on the internet, I probably would have prepared a little bit more,” Long said. “But moving forward, you live and you learn.
“[Cohen] texted me immediately . . . ‘I’m so sorry.’ I said, ‘Dude, it’s OK. [Stuff] happens.’ What are you gonna do? The plane ride home was comedy club, as you can imagine.
“I was trying to go shower, then next thing you know you’re on the internet. It was unfortunate, but we’re moving forward.”
Nagy, meanwhile, also noted Wednesday the Bears have re-emphasized the NFL’s stringent social media policy to players. Said league rules prohibit players from posting any content, video or otherwise, on any social media platform from 90 minutes prior to kickoff until postgame media obligations are complete.
Odds are that the Bears will not have to deal with any such issues going forward, so at least Long will not have to worry about getting caught with his pants down again this season. In a literal sense.
