Kyle Long: Mitchell Trubisky's time as Bears QB is over

Is Mitchell Trubisky's time as Chicago Bears quarterback coming to an end? An ex-Bears lineman thinks so.

Kyle Long thinks we'll be seeing Trubisky in another uniform much sooner than many think.

"Long answer short, the writing is on the wall for my friend No. 10," Long said on Da Windy City Podcast, according to CBS Sports' Tyler Sullivan. "We are potentially going to see him in another jersey in years to come here sooner rather than later. I think Nick Foles was brought in to be the starting quarterback. There is no real secret there."

The Bears added Foles last month in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and it's likely that he gets the nod over Trubisky in 2020. The 31-year-old is 26-22 in his eight-year career with a 61.9 completion percentage, 11,901 yards, 71 touchdowns and 35 interceptions.

When comparing his numbers to those of Trubisky, they're actually very similar. Trubisky, 25, is 23-18 with a 63.4 completion percentage, 8,554 yards, 48 touchdowns and 29 interceptions.

The big difference between the two is that Foles is a veteran and also had led the Philadelphia Eagles to a Super Bowl championship. Trubisky has been very underwhelming at the helm of Chicago's offense since being drafted second overall in 2017.

Trubisky could probably help a team like the Miami Dolphins or Los Angeles Chargers, but his services in Chicago do not seem to be needed anymore.
