Kyle Shanahan reveals Nick Bosa likely tore ACL vs. Jets

Although the San Francisco 49ers defeated the New York Jets 31-13, it was a costly Week 2 victory for the club who already is dealing with plenty of injuries this season.

The 49ers lost quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle), Raheem Mostert (knee) and Nick Bosa (knee) to injury in the win.

Following the game, head coach Kyle Shanahan revealed that Bosa likely suffered a torn ACL and if that's the case, he'll be out for the remainder of the season.

The defensive end was carted off the field in the first quarter with the knee injury. He appeared to get twisted up on a four-yard run from Frank Gore with 6:45 remaining in the first quarter. Bosa's leg buckled underneath him as he was fighting off a block from the Jets offensive line.

The injuries, unfortunately, are adding up for the reigning NFC champions. Tight end George Kittle was ruled out for Week 2 with an MCL sprain, and the team will be without cornerback Richard Sherman for a while after he was placed on injured reserve with a calf strain.

Losing Bosa for any amount of time will be costly for a 49ers team that struggled early on this season against the Arizona Cardinals.

If Bosa did tear his ACL, it'll be the second time in his football career. He previously tore his ACL during a high school game in 2015.
