Kyler Murray has made it clear to the Arizona Cardinals that he wants a new contract, and the star quarterback may have dropped a hint this week that negotiations are headed in the right direction.

Murray first expressed frustration with the Cardinals when he scrubbed all references to the team from his social media profiles last month. Not long after that, Murray’s agent released a statement confirming that the former No. 1 overall pick is seeking a new deal. On Tuesday, Murray restored all of his Cardinals-related content on Instagram.

That could mean nothing, but it certainly meant something when Murray deleted all the images. Perhaps the fact that he restored them is an indication that he and the Cardinals are on the same page.

After Murray first deleted all of his Cardinals content, some unflattering reports about him started trickling out. Murray responded with a message about his level of commitment to his teammates.

Murray is entering the final season of his rookie contract and set to make around $11.4 million in 2022. The team holds a fifth-year contract option for Murray that would pay him $25 million in 2023. Murray doesn’t have much leverage, but one report claimed he is willing to go to some extreme measures to get a new deal.
