The Packers are preparing for their matchup against the Jets on Sunday. There were a couple of roster moves made Saturday which often can give some hints on the status of injured players. Saturday’s roster moves show promising news for Packers star player Rashan Gary.

Roster moves show promising news for Rashan Gary

The Packers are already thin at outside linebacker. With Rashan Gary questionable with a toe injury, there was a question about whether the Packers would call up some help from the practice squad. The Packers did not end up calling anyone up.

La’Darius Hamilton and Kobe Jones will stay on the practice squad this week. This is positive news for Gary, as it points to him playing in some capacity on Sunday.

Great news for the Packers

The Packers need to put pressure on Zach Wilson this week. Rashan Gary is the team leader in sacks and is a big part of the pass rush. Even him being able to play only some of the snaps would be a benefit to the Packers.

The team may still call on rookie Kingsley Enagbare to take some pressure off of Gary but these roster moves point to him playing. He did practice in a limited capacity all week which was another positive going into the weekend. Gary drawing a lot of attention allows other rushers Preston Smith and Kenny Clark more one on one matchups. Having him on the field is imperative for the Packers' defense.
