Lamar Jackson describes Ravens' new offense in one word

The Ravens are in the beginning stages of installing their new offense under offensive coordinator Todd Monken and QB Lamar Jackson has one word to describe it.

"The new offense is smooth," Jackson tells reporters. "More verbiage than usual. I like it. I'm loving it so far."

Monken has big shoes to fill, replacing Greg Roman, who spent 2017-22 in Baltimore and four years (2019-22) as the offensive coordinator. However, having the 2019 NFL MVP locked up through 2027 certainly helps.

The Ravens also provided Jackson with the best supporting cast he has had since entering the NFL, signing WR Odell Beckham Jr. in free agency and using their 2023 first-round pick on WR Zay Flowers.

Baltimore doesn't have a lack of talent anymore, and CBS Sports predicts Jackson will have the best season of his five-year NFL career thus far and will "throw for at least 4,000 yards" in 2023.

However, there is still a way to go until the start of the 2023 season, and good thing because Jackson is trying to soak up all he can of his new offense.

"Coach is very active. He's talkative and you're enjoying it, like the learning process ... teaching us the new offense," Jackson adds. "It's fun."
