Lamar Jackson responds to rumors about potentially leaving Ravens

Apparently, Lamar Jackson is over it.

There has been plenty of talk recently about stalled negotiations on a contract extension for the Baltimore Ravens' starting quarterback. That talk has, of course, spurred rumors the 25-year-old signal-caller is hoping to play elsewhere.

So Jackson took matters into his own hands and took to Twitter to slam the "false narrative" suggesting he wants to play for any team other than the Ravens.

While Jackson's tweet suggests he has no intention of leaving Baltimore, it also doesn't shine any light on why he hasn't engaged in any talks about signing an extension.

The 2019 NFL MVP is entering the fifth-year option on his current deal, which will pay a little over $23 million in 2022, via Spotrac. If a deal doesn't get done before the start of the 2022 season — and owner Steve Bisciotti doesn't believe it will — the Ravens will have to place the franchise tag on Jackson to keep him from becoming a free agent.

Bisciotti hasn't completely slammed Jackson for wanting to wait, though, rather calling him a "unique cat."

"You don't browbeat him into being a conformist," Bisciotti said, via ESPN. "We're taking him as we take him. We appreciate him. All I know is that his teammates freaking love him and the front office loves him. It's like, 'You just keep doing you Lamar, and we'll make it work somehow.'"
