Larry Fitzgerald 'likes' Cardinals' offseason moves but hasn't made decision on playing

The latest "will he retire or won't he" development involving Arizona Cardinals legend, future Hall of Famer and free-agent wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald largely looks like the rest. The veteran who played for the Cardinals from 2004 through 2020 hasn't made a final decision but still has a football home in Arizona if he wants one.

"He’s told me he likes the moves in the offseason and he’s excited, but he hasn’t told me his plans," Cardinals general manager Steve Keim said during a Tuesday interview with Adam Schein of SiriusXM Mad Dog Radio, per Arizona Sports 98.7 FM.

"I think with a guy like him, who I think has earned this right, a lot of times guys like that see how their body feels. They want to feel the motivation to go back out for another long, grueling season. Leave it up to him. I think he’s earned that right and if he tells us at some point that he’s ready to go, we’ll have a spot for him."

Fitzgerald appeared in 13 games last season and recorded 54 receptions for 409 yards and a touchdown. He turns 38 years old in August and has been linked in free-agency rumors with the reigning Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers and coach Bruce Arians due to the relationship the pair built while working together with the Cardinals, but many analysts have suggested that retirement or rejoining Arizona for one more season are the only options Fitzgerald will consider this spring and summer.
