The New England Patriots made a roster move on Tuesday, but that might mean bad news for one key starter.

According to KPRC's Aaron Wilson, the Patriots have signed former Indianapolis Colts tight end La'Michael Pettway. The Boston Herald's Doug Kyed further added that he is being signed to the practice squad.

This comes after tight end Hunter Henry was missing from practice all last week and did not play in Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos.

With this latest move, it could mean that the Patriots are looking to add some depth at the position because Henry will remain sidelined. There are only two games remaining and no possibility of playoffs, so the team might not want to risk Henry injuring himself more.

Pettway started his career in the USFL, playing with the Birmingham Stallions and helping the team win the 2023 USFL Championship.

He was then signed by the Indianapolis Colts at the beginning of August, but his time with the with the team didn't last long, being released just over a week later. The reason for this move was due to injury and to make room on the roster for another player.

Pettway is already a little familiar with the Patriots tight end room, having played with Pharaoh Brown during his short stint with the Colts. He also joins Mike Gesicki and Matt Sokol.
