The Baltimore Ravens are one of the best teams in the NFL. The organization doesn’t need people to tell them what they already know. But as with everything, it’s nice to see the team get recognition in the national media.

Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report recently released an article ranking the NFL’s 32 teams following the 2025 NFL Draft, and the Ravens got credit where it was due.

Ravens place highly in Bleacher Report's post-NFL Draft power rankings

After another strong draft class, Baltimore maintained its status as one of the league’s best, and possibly moved up the ranks in many analysts' minds. In Davenport's power ranking, Baltimore places fifth in the league. He noted the addition of Georgia safety Malaki Starks as a “gift,” and one that should fix the struggles that took place in the Ravens’ secondary over the majority of the 2024 season, thanks to his versatility.

The teams sitting ahead of the Ravens on this list include the Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions, Kansas City Chiefs, and Philadelphia Eagles—all reasonable teams to put ahead of Baltimore. While many believe the Ravens had a more talented draft class than the Bills, Buffalo’s playoff success against Baltimore helps them claim a spot over the Ravens.

As for the Lions, there’s a case to make to slot Baltimore ahead of the team from the Motor City. From top to bottom, the Ravens’ roster is stronger than the Lions’. Whether on offense or defense, Baltimore has the playmakers to prove they’re the better team this year. However, Detroit’s youth movement turns up the heat every year, and head coach Dan Campbell, who made a strong case for NFL Coach of the Year in 2024, has proven himself as one of the greatest minds in the league.

The top two—the Chiefs at two and Eagles at one—have staked their claim as the number one team in their respective conferences.

Kansas City is one of the strongest-run organizations and consistently gets it done when it matters most. Even in what seemed like a down year, they found a way to finish with a 15-2 record and made a run to the Super Bowl.

As for the Eagles, it’d be foolish to rank them anywhere but number one as the defending champs. And of course, they had yet another strong draft. If the Ravens want to leap over either of these top two, they’ll have to find that long-awaited success in the postseason.

The number five spot is a fair ranking for Baltimore. They’ve proven themselves time and time again as a force in the regular season. However, that has yet to translate into much postseason success. While a talented team, Lamar Jackson and company will need to tap into that regular season rhythm in the postseason if they want to reign supreme as the NFL’s best. This team is right there.
