LB Will Compton jumps from podcasting to spot with Falcons

A popular podcast host stepped away from the mic to pursue his other profession: an NFL linebacker.

Linebacker Will Compton announced on Monday that he'd signed with the Atlanta Falcons, though it was unclear if Compton had signed with the 53-man roster or the practice squad.

Compton is a 10-year NFL veteran who had made his living as a special teams ace and a contributor on defense. He has amassed 323 tackles, four forced fumbles, three picks, and a sack in his career.

He started his career in Washington before holding brief stints with Tennessee, Las Vegas, and New Orleans.

In recent years, Compton has gained added notoriety for co-hosting the popular sports podcast "Bussin' With the Boys" with Titans tackle Taylor Lewan.

The show puts the two NFL players on a bus to talk with various individuals in the NFL world and beyond. Falcons head coach Arthur Smith has been a guest on the program in the past.

The show's Twitter account actually broke the news when he'd been hired as Atlanta's head coach in 2021.

Compton would likely make his living in Atlanta on special teams, where linebacker Nick Kwiatkowski is working through an injury.

It's nice timing for Compton, with the Falcons slated to take on his first team, the Commanders, at FedEx Field on Sunday.
