Le'Veon Bell doesn't hold grudge against Jamal Adams
When Jamal Adams was traded to the Seattle Seahawks, it seemed that Le'Veon Bell was unhappy with the way his former teammate forced his way out of New York. The two exchanged words on social media, with Bell saying that Adams lied to him. Now, Bell has cleared the air on the tension between the two, explaining his frustration with Adams while also saying that he wants the best for the safety.
Bell said that Adams was part of why he wanted to come to New York in the first place and that the All-Pro safety heavily recruited him to join the team. When rumors began circulating about Adams' possible exit, Bell said Adams "was telling me he wasn't going to force his way out."
Of course, Adams did end up forcing his way out, and his methods appeared to frustrate Bell, which is why he called him out. However, it seems that he does not hold any lingering resentment toward his former teammate, as he recalled his own divisive exit from the Pittsburgh Steelers while saying each player needs to do what is best for him regardless of criticism.
"Jamal's a great player," Bell told reporters. "There's nothing you can take away from that. He's a great, special player on the field, and I loved playing with him. He's a great teammate, too. Sometimes, you don't like the way people handle things. [There are] ways I've handled things that people haven't liked. I want the best for Jamal, regardless."
