Le'Veon Bell: 'Got a lot to prove' after release from Jets

The New York Jets released All-Pro running back Le'Veon Bell on Tuesday, who wasn't happy with the organization after an 0-5 start.

It's unknown where Bell will end up at this point, but he tweeted Tuesday night that he has "a lot to prove" and is ready for a new beginning.

Jets head coach Adam Gase didn't approve of the Bell signing from the start, and the two never clicked. Bell was frustrated with his lack of involvement in the offense, and Sunday's Week 5 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals was the breaking point for the Pro Bowler.

After missing three weeks due to injury, Bell had just 13 carries for 60 yards and one reception for seven yards in the 30-10 loss. During Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills, he had six carries for 14 yards and two receptions for 32 yards.

Since signing a four-year, $52.5 million deal with New York last year, Bell has averaged just 3.3 yards per carry, which ranks 51st out of 53 qualifying runners in the NFL during that span.

As for who could be interested in Bell's services, ESPN's Bill Barnwell lists the Chicago Bears, who are "the most obvious fit Bell," the Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans, Seattle Seahawks, Miami Dolphins and Arizona Cardinals.

Barnwell also says that Bell could return to the 4-0 Pittsburgh Steelers, but he's skeptical of the fit after things between the two sides ended on a sour note.
