The Detroit Lions made some roster moves on Thursday that got the ball rolling on bringing back some of their players from injured reserve. One of those moves was to waive Chase Lucas and then activate Jason Cabinda off of injured reserve. One day the later the Lions have shockingly decided to now part ways with the veteran fullback. Here's everything the Lions did Friday:

Waived Jason Cabinda

It is surprising that the Lions decided to do this a day after activating him. There could be some sort of contractual move here that made this move necessary yesterday. The Lions have a good history of separating with a player on good terms and making sure that the player has a the opportunity to walk away with as much money in their pocket as possible. We'll update you on this as soon as we have more information.

Signed Michael Badgley to active roster

This is one thing that needed to happen. The Lions elevated Badgley from the practice squad in the last two games. Now they don't have to worry about that anymore since he's now on the roster. There is still one open roster spot after this switch with Cabinda becasue the Lions waived Trevor Nowaske on Thursday.

Released Chris Smith from practice squad, signed Michael Schofield to practice squad.

This is another strange one sort of. The Lions just waived Michael  Schofield last week when they signed Craig James to their practice squad. They also just signed Chris Smith to the practice squad recently. Now Smith is gone again and Schofield is back. There could be some more movement on the practice squad if Chase Lucas clears waivers.
