Lions RB D'Andre Swift doubtful to play vs. Bears with illness
Detroit Lions running back D'Andre Swift cleared concussion protocol this week, but it appears he'll be sidelined for another issue.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Swift has been downgraded to doubtful for Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears with an illness. He has not been placed on the reserve/COVID list, so the illness isn't believed to be coronavirus-related.
Swift, who was selected by the Lions in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, has appeared in nine games for Detroit this season. The 21-year-old has 70 carries for 331 yards and four touchdowns with 31 receptions for 275 yards and two scores.
Swift has been the Lions' second option behind Adrian Peterson. If he misses Sunday's game, Kerryon Johnson will likely see more snaps for Detroit.
