Lions RB Jamaal Williams excited to return to Lambeau Field, face Packers

Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams is ready to square off against his former team at Lambeau Field this weekend.

The former Green Bay Packers running back discussed what it would be like playing at Lambeau for the first time while not wearing the green and gold. He admitted he's excited about the matchup.

"I'll be there a little early, so the times I be dancing out there, they don't even be having the fans out there yet," Williams said, according to The Athletic's Matt Schneidman. "So I'll probably get to them during warmups and stuff. But it's gonna be great, man. I can't wait for it. It's gonna be a great game."

Williams spent his first four NFL seasons with the Packers before signing with the Lions in free agency this past offseason. He was a fan favorite in Green Bay and had a significant impact in the locker room.

During his time with the Packers, the 26-year-old ran for 1,985 yards and 10 touchdowns in 60 games. He also had 122 catches for 961 yards and eight scores.

Sunday's game between the Lions and Packers will be critical for both sides. Green Bay is looking to bounce back after a disappointing Week 1 loss to the New Orleans Saints, and Detroit is looking for a win after coming up short against the San Francisco 49ers despite a miraculous comeback.

In his first game as a Lion, Williams ran for 54 yards and a touchdown. He also had eight catches for 56 yards.
