The YouTube Sports show, Crain and Company, caught up with former San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers at the Senior Bowl Hall of Fame induction. Many topics were discussed, but a wild prediction was made, and Rivers had an interesting reaction. Needless to say, many Las Vegas Raiders fans might agree.

Crain and Company have the Los Angeles Chargers winning a championship this season. It would be their first in the Super Bowl era. For those that don’t recall, it would be their first trip back to the championship game since getting completely destroyed by the San Francisco 49ers in 1994. Regardless, that was the bold proclamation given to Rivers, who shook his head in disbelief and laughed.
“Do you really?” scoffed Rivers, in disbelief. For those who don’t know, Rivers is well known for speaking his mind. On top of that, he is one of the funniest guys to never use profanity. Rivers couldn’t hold back his shock and disbelief, so he called an audible and moved the conversation in a different direction.
“I pull like crazy for the Chargers, and I pull for Justin Herbert,” said Rivers. He was fully aware that his time with the Chargers had come to an end, and he harbored no animosity towards the team. Overall, he seemed very pleased to be replaced by Herbert. In fact, he said the Chargers hit it out of the park with that one. Citing how cool it was for the Packers’ quarterbacks of the last 40 years to consist of Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre was a slight embellishment.
“That’s a bold pick”
There was no co-signing done by Rivers whatsoever. In fact, when readdressing the prediction at the end, he once again was dismissive while acknowledging it. Which is incredible, considering how much he loves and pulls for the Chargers. All of the talking heads and prognosticators are placing their faith in the Chargers, but clearly, Rivers is not ready to commit to that as of three weeks ago.
Somehow, Rivers finds himself in lockstep with all of Raider Nation. It’s clear from his reaction and expressions that Rivers doesn’t expect the Chargers to do something he himself was incapable of doing: win the big one. Let alone finding a way to beat the Raiders, a task that proved too difficult when they needed it most.
