The Los Angeles Chargers hold plenty of cards in their hand with the fifth overall pick. If they choose to stay at five, an elite offensive prospect will probably head their way. Recently, there have been murmurs that Jim Harbaugh will improve the trenches in round one.

That may not mean an offensive line pick in round one, though. Instead, the Chargers could take elite tight end prospect Brock Bowers.

The Chargers met with Bowers on Wednesday, according to Adam Schefter.

Earlier in the week, Schefter noted that Harbaugh may want to strengthen their line. Bowers does that, alongside improving their group of pass catchers.

Bowers would have an immediate impact on Justin Herbert and the Chargers offense. He's a special athlete for the TE position, and Los Angeles lacks upside at that spot on the depth chart.

Tight ends almost never move like this with the football in their hands.

Wide receiver would remain a massive need, but the Chargers could use day two and day three capital to address that. Bowers is a good blocker with room to grow that would improve the offensive line when used in-line.

All in all, Justin Herbert would appreciate the Bowers pick, and it'd fit the mantra of a gritty Jim Harbaugh offense.
