The Los Angeles Rams found themselves in the market for a new defensive coordinator. This came after the Atlanta Falcons announced they were going to hire Raheem Morris as their head coach. Los Angeles did not have to look far to find a new defensive coordinator.

Los Angeles Rams Promote Chris Shula

The Los Angeles Rams announced on their social media pages that they are going to promote Chris Shula to their defensive coordinator position. The social media team captioned it by saying, “Well deserved!”

Shula has been on the Rams’ coaching staff for seven seasons. In 2023, he was the linebackers coach and pass rush coordinator. Now, he will have a chance to make his mark on the entire Los Angeles defense.

Grandson of Don Shula

Some of you may recognize the last name of the Rams’ new defensive coordinator. Well, you would be right to do so. That is because Chris is the grandson of legendary NFL head coach Don Shula.

Don Shula currently holds the record for most wins in NFL history as a head coach. Perhaps Chris will get a chance to get some head coach wins of his own one day if this defensive coordinator promotion goes well for him.
