NFL Insider and long-time friend of the Los Angeles Rams head coach, Peter Schrager released his ‘second and final attempt at projecting how Round 1 will play out.’ In it he has the Rams not only trading back, but completely out of the first round. This would notch the 8th straight season in which the Rams have cut bait with their day-one pick.

Schrager’s mock trades are two-fold:

FIRST:

The Los Angeles Rams move down to pick 32 and add Kansas City’s second and fourth-round picks (Nos. 64 and 131) in the process.

SECOND:

Then the New England Patriots package their second and third-round picks (Nos. 34 and 68) to move to 32. L.A. enters Day 2 with 14 total picks after Thursday night’s deals.

In his first mock, Schager guaranteed the Rams would take an offensive lineman in the first round barring a trade scenario.

Los Angeles Rams Also Linked with a Top-10 Trade Scenario

This flies in the face of reporting by Diana Russini of The Athletic. Her sources are telling her that the Rams are actively attempting to trade up into the Top 10.

At this moment in the draft timeline, it is impossible to tell what is truth and what is subterfuge, but what is guaranteed is what Sean McVay has said. “..All options on the table”
