Lovie Smith will be welcomed back rudely. Not so much by fans, but by a fired up and angry Bears team. I think most fans appreciate Smith and realize he was a good coach for the Bears. I think they they will give him a warm welcome, maybe even a standing ovation at some point. That’s where the kindness will end.

Bears are the more talented team

For the first time this season the Bears have a more talented roster then there opponent. At basically every position as well. Texans starting quarterback Davis Mills had a solid week one, but came back to earth week two as the Texans were kept out of the end zone. No one jumps out at you at any of the skill positions either with Brandon Cooks as their leading receiver, and Dameon Pearce their leading rusher. With a sub par offense and defense their 0-1-1 record seems to be over achieved despite playing two solid teams.

At home and angry

Being at home and coming off yet another loss to hated Green Bay will have the Bears fired up. Unfortunately for the Texans the Bears will take it out on them. There aren’t many games this season where the Bears are favored but this is one of them. Everything favors them and if the lose this game there will be no excuses. Any playoff talk will be wrapped up as well. This will be a good game to use as a measuring stick to see how good or bad the Bears really are. This is the NFL however and anything is possible. The Texans have world class athletes too, and an old crafty coach who looks like a wizard.

Sunday’s expectations

This should turn into a blowout and that’s what I’m expecting. The only thing I could see keeping the Texans close is turnovers, and penalties and I think Eberflus does a good job of preventing those. This should be a stat padding game and a break out for Mooney and Fields. This young exciting secondary should get a few interceptions. This will get the Bears feeling good about themselves again, then on to week four. Bears should score in the thirties and hold the Texans under twenty. This is the most favorable game on the schedule, it won’t get easier then this, But if you lose it will be demoralizing.

Thanks Lovie

I was a big Lovie Smith fan. I appreciated him even when he shoved Rex is our quarterback down our throat. So from the bottom of my heart thanks for the Memories Lovie. Your return to Soldier Field as an NFL head coach will be hell. No hard feelings it’s just business. Bears 36 Texans 17 ⬇️
