The Detroit Lions struggled for much of Saturday afternoon, leading to a 25-7 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in their second preseason game.

Many of the starters, along with multiple key rookies, sat the game out after two days of competitive joint practice reps.

There were some encouraging moments, such as James Houston's four tackles for loss. However, the depth on the offensive line among other areas was exposed.

"We'll be able to watch the tape but I did feel like he showed up and did some good things (Saturday)," Dan Campbell said. "I wasn't able to watch him the whole game, but I felt like I watched him enough to feel like, you could feel his presence out there, which was good."

Without their top six up front, the Lions' offense had a tough time getting and sustaining positive momentum. Ultimately, the unit managed just one score while punting eight times.

Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was just 5-for-11 in his debut, which lasted six series. The lone touchdown came in the second half on a one-yard pass from Nate Sudfeld to Chase Cota.
