The Chicago Bears got a visit from the ghost of Christmas past (aka tight end Marcedes Lewis) in Week 16 against the Arizona Cardinals.

In all seriousness, the Bears veteran tight end had an all-time memorable performance against the Cardinals on Christmas Eve.

With his 1-yard touchdown in the second quarter, Lewis set a new NFL record becoming the oldest tight end in NFL history to record a reception touchdown.

Lewis broke his own record that he was able to set back in Week 16, 2022 with the Green Bay Packers. The 39-year-old has now recorded 40 career touchdowns, a nice milestone to finally reach for the former first round pick back in 2006.

Lewis also joined two Pro Football Hall of Famers as the only players to catch a reception touchdown over the age of 39.

The ageless wonder as been an under-appreciated addition to the Bears roster in 2023. Lewis has primarily been known as a blocking tight end in his later years but his impact in the Bears locker room cannot be expressed solely by his numbers.

After the win, Bears head coach Matt Eberflus took the time to shout out the touchdown while commending the man known as "Big Dog" for not only his impact on the field but in the locker room as well.

"That was big," Eberflus said. "The guys were excited about that. We had that play in and they all start barking when he scored because he's the 'big dog'. He's a big human and he is a great leader too. And the guys love him."

The touchdown was the first of the season for Lewis, during his 266th career game of his record breaking 18th season in the NFL. The score gave the Bears an early 21-0 lead over the Cardinals.

Fellow tight end Cole Kmet also managed to have a memorable Christmas Eve performance after posting his first career 100-yard game in Week 16. Kmet finished the game with four receptions for 107 yards.
