Marcus Santos-Silva, who played college basketball at Texas Tech and VCU opened up about how he’s feeling with his transition from college basketball to the NFL.

As to why he wanted to transition sports, he said this:

“I saw that no NBA agents were hitting me up, it was all overseas and I didn’t really want to go overseas, I wanted to stay home. So I was like ‘You know what? Let me do the NFL route.'”

He knows that this will be difficult to do, so he’s getting help from a few players.

How is Santos-Silva Learning?

He’s gotten help from Mo Alie-Cox who transitioned the same way. He said the advice he’s gotten from him has really helped him out.

“The pointers he’s given me have really helped me out because I have a type of vision of what it’s going to be like.”

He also looks at film to help him. Santos-Silva said he mainly watches Rob Gronkowski to study footwork and blocking.

Can He Make the Browns’ Roster?

If he wants to make it, he has to be committed. And so far, it seems like he’s done that.

Via Sports Illustrated, Santos-Silva said he doesn’t have any regrets on his journey so far.

“The main thing was I didn’t want to have any regret. I’ve been grateful for what basketball has done for me. It brought me to this opportunity and now I’m ready for a new journey.”

He has enjoyed his time with the Browns so far and he’s hoping he can make the team.

“I’m 100 percent committed to this whole thing. I really want to make this work out because I’ve actually had a lot of fun with it.”
