Mark Ingram and J.K. Dobbins could play in Ravens-Steelers game
The Baltimore Ravens got some relatively good news in the midst of their massive COVID-19 outbreak, as NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported that J.K. Dobbins and Mark Ingram may be able to play in the rescheduled game against the Pittsburgh Steelers Wednesday afternoon.
According to Pelissero, the two running backs are set to fly to Pittsburgh for the game, though they won't be flying with the team "because they're still in COVID protocols." If the two do not test positive, they presumably will be available to play.
Of course, this is a very slim silver lining in a situation that has gone about as bad as you can imagine for Baltimore. Ingram and Dobbins were among the first players on the Ravens to test positive last week before a full-blown outbreak forced the NFL to reschedule their game against the Steelers multiple times. They have now undergone the league's mandatory 10-day isolation protocol, meaning that they are allowed back.
But even with Ingram and Dobbins, the Ravens will have a tough task ahead of them taking down the Steelers, who are the last undefeated team in the NFL. Even before the outbreak, the Ravens were considered underdogs and now will have to try avoiding a season sweep against Pittsburgh without several key players, including reigning MVP Lamar Jackson.
The Ravens are the second team this season to experience a legitimate outbreak, as the Tennessee Titans had a similar fiasco earlier this year. As of now, the NFL's plan simply seems to be to make it through the season without having to cancel any games.
