Marriage of Buccaneers' Tom Brady, Gisele Bundchen reportedly 'beyond saving'

It was reported earlier on Tuesday that Tampa Bay Buccaneers star quarterback Tom Brady and wife Gisele Bundchen have hired divorce attorneys amid ongoing rumors about alleged marital issues that stem back to at least the preseason in August.

TMZ Sports now says that Brady and Bundchen had been on the hunt for divorce lawyers "for weeks" and that "the marriage is beyond saving" as things stand today.

"We've spoken to sources on both sides who tell us the estranged couple has independently contacted some of the country's biggest and best dissolution attorneys, with talks starting several weeks ago," TMZ added.

Hints that something behind-the-scenes was impacting Brady's football life first appeared when the seven-time Super Bowl champion took an unannounced 11-day break away from the Buccaneers amid the team's preseason schedule for "personal" reasons later suggested to be related to "heated arguments over Brady’s shock decision to un-retire from the NFL" this past winter.

Brady announced his retirement on Feb. 1 before he took to social media on March 13 to confirm he was returning for at least one more NFL season. It was reported last month that the 45-year-old and Bundchen "mutually" determined he would retire after the 2021 campaign and that he "decided by himself that he'd come back" to Tampa Bay's active roster.

Later stories claimed the two have been "living separately" throughout the ongoing season, and TMZ says Bundchen "has been noticeably absent from" each of the Buccaneers' first four games. Brady and Bundchen have been married since 2009.

Brady and the 2-2 Buccaneers will next welcome the 2-2 Atlanta Falcons to Raymond James Stadium this coming Sunday.
