Matt LaFleur comments on excuses for Jordan Love's poor day at camp

Even the most seasoned pro isn't at their sharpest during the first few days of training camp, so it wasn't surprising that reports of Jordan Love's struggles throwing the deep ball emerged earlier this week. However, while wind was named as a factor, Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur didn't entirely buy that excuse.

"Was there wind out there?" LaFleur told reporters Thursday via Rob Demovsky of ESPN.

LaFleur quickly pointed out that he wasn't going to overreact after one day of camp, but he also added that there were a few throws Love "should've put a little more air under."

Despite the excessive analysis of day one of camp for Love as the Packers' No. 1, teammate Rasul Douglas didn't seem worried.

"He's going to be good, and our offense, they'll make plays," Douglas said via John Miller of NBC26. "We'll be fine."

Replacing a future Hall of Famer isn't an easy task, and doing so for such a legendary franchise with a history of stud QBs makes it all the more difficult. Love is under a larger microscope than most young quarterbacks, and there are many on the outside predicting he'll fail. Whether or not he can prove the naysayers wrong and shine in his first year as the guy under center in Green Bay, only Love can answer that with his play on the field.

Though, from all indications, Love had a much better Thursday at camp.
