Micah Parsons makes bold Super Bowl prediction while recruiting elite DL

The 2022 NFL season ended on Sunday, and Cowboys LB Micah Parsons started the offseason by immediately fueling the Dallas hype train, making a Super Bowl prediction.

"Better put a star in your helmet, big bro," Parsons said on Twitter while replying to Ravens DL Calais Campbell, who said, "I really want to play in Super Bowl LVIII."

It could be a recruiting pitch because the Ravens may release Campbell this offseason since it will save Baltimore $7M in cap room, per OverTheCap.

In addition, the Ravens need space for Lamar Jackson's franchise tag (worth $32.4M).

Although Campbell's an aging player at 36 years old, he's still productive, recording 36 tackles in 15 games last season. He has an impressive resume as a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame's All-2010s team.

It's likely that Parsons, who's entering his third season, wants to learn from a top-tier defensive player. Consequently, he's using Dallas' viability as a championship contender to catch his attention if the Ravens release Campbell and Dallas is interested.

Predicting that Dallas will make Super Bowl LVIII is rash but not laughably absurd.

According to Oddschecker, the Cowboys have the sixth-best Super Bowl LVIII odds. Over the past two seasons, Dallas tied Buffalo for the second-most regular-season victories (24), just behind Super Bowl LVII champion Kansas City (26).

But Dallas last made a Super Bowl 27 years ago. Also, it must adjust to coaching staff changes like the departure of OC Kellen Moore and will likely need Parsons to play like an NFL Defensive Player of the Year candidate again.

Nonetheless, that's not stopping Parsons from raising expectations while recruiting elite players.
