The New York Giants underwent wholesale changes this offseason. Owners John Mara and Steve Tisch cleaned the house this offseason, firing the head coach and general manager. New York then made some exciting hirings with Joe Schoen as the next GM and Brian Daboll as the next HC. The fans are reinvested and excited for the Giants’ new direction. Not only are the fans excited, but former players are excited, too. Hall of Fame pass-rusher Michael Strahan recently expressed his excitement for the New York Giants in an interview on Tiki and Tierney.

Leading by example
The New York Giants’ new regime has made a great first impression with Michael Strahan. Strahan is impressed with the Giants’ usage of veteran players in the locker room, saying, “They actually reached out to veteran players who have been there before and not to come in and talk to young guys say this is what you do and this is how you do it but kind of just being around to be an example.”
In the past, the Giants have signed veteran players to act as sort of player-coaches. This new regime does not want players bossing other players, rather, this regime wants veterans to lead by example.
Daniel Jones breakout campaign?
As the former offensive coordinator of the Buffalo Bills, new Giants head coach Brian Daboll has been given some lofty expectations. Daboll is credited with the development of MVP-caliber quarterback Josh Allen. The Giants are hoping to see Daniel Jones take a massive, Josh Allen-like leap this year. Michael Strahan believes that reality is now a possibility.

Kayvon Thibodeaux mentorship
The New York Giants drafted superstar draft prospect Kayvon Thibodeaux with the fifth overall pick in this year’s draft. Thibodeaux is an prospect that the Giants hope to develop into a game-changing pass-rusher. Michael Strahan is on-board and is willing to assist in Kayvon’s development. But Strahan also wants to keep the Giants’ new young star focused.
“He understands that in order for all those other things to happen as you and I did that you gotta be a great football player because that’s your primary business,” Strahan said when discussing Thibodeaux’s interests outside of football
Michael Strahan made it clear to Kayvon Thibodeaux that he can reach out at any time. Strahan knows a thing or two about being a superstar pass-rusher for the New York Giants. Maybe he can rub some of his greatness off onto Kayvon Thibodeaux.
