Could the Los Angeles Rams turn into one of the NFL's best stories? With a win on Sunday, it's certainly possible, and running back Kyren Williams is a big factor in that turnaround.

The Rams held a record of 3-6 before winning back-to-back games and reentering the playoff race, and Williams' return from injury last week against the Arizona Cardinals proved to be huge in the team's success. Offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur recently discussed what Williams brings to the table and how his return revitalized an offense that had struggled for much of the season.

“Yeah, it's no secret," LaFleur said. "He brought just a jolt of energy that is so authentic to his personality, and guys can feel it. You can tell just from the first snap to the time we were in the locker room just what his teammates think of him because of what he brings every single day in terms of his work ethic, what he brings out in the practice field.

"And then just like I just said, his personality and his energy that he brings 24/7, it never changes. So it was good to have him back.”

It was good to see his production on the field, as well. Williams put up strong numbers in his return to action, rushing for 143 yards on 16 carries in the 37-14 win over Arizona. That performance marked L.A.'s most points scored in a single game this season, and although Williams did not find the end zone himself, you could see a difference in the rhythm of the offense with him on the field.

Can that be replicated this week? The Rams offense certainly faces a stiffer test on Sunday in the form of the Cleveland Browns who boast one of the top defenses in the NFL. The Browns rank sixth in the NFL in rushing yards allowed this season with 1,165, so Williams and quarterback Matthew Stafford will have to prove that they belong in the playoff conversation this week.

Kickoff between the Rams and Browns is scheduled for 1:25 p.m. PT on Sunday, and the game will be televised on FOX.
