Mike Tomlin breaks up kids fighting in the street and invites them to Steelers practice

Mike Tomlin was a real-life hero to several young men in the Pittsburgh area. Not only did the Steelers head coach break up a fight they were having in the street, but he ended up befriending them and actually inviting them to practice.

Talk about awesome. This is the type of move that not only makes a fan for life, but can change the direction of someone's life.

The story comes from NFL insider Jay Glazer, who reports that Tomlin was driving somewhere when he saw a group of kids fighting in front of him. He got out of the car, to the shock of the kids, and rather than yell at them, chide them, or get them in trouble...the NFL head coach "spent the next few hours with the kids," per Glazer.

That would be great enough from an NFL head coach and plenty noteworthy, but then Tomlin stepped his hero game up a notch.

Tomlin invited the local kids to Steelers practice where they were able to run drills with running back Najee Harris and get coaching from their new best buddy.

Sometimes sports can be more than sports, and this moment with Tomlin is one of those times.
