Mohamed Sanu signs one-year deal to return to 49ers

Veteran wide receiver Mohamed Sanu is staying in San Francisco. The 31-year-old agreed to a one-year deal with the 49ers on Saturday, his agent Mike McCartney announced via Twitter.

After a disappointing 2019 season, Sanu signed with the 49ers in September 2020. The 31-year-old appeared in three games for the club last season, securing his only target for nine yards before being released in early October.

Sanu then joined the Detroit Lions practice squad before making it to the active roster. In seven games with the Lions, he had 16 catches for 178 yards and one touchdown.

Sanu's best seasons came from 2016-18 with the Atlanta Falcons
