Multiple teams already interested in ex-Cowboys OC Kellen Moore

The Dallas Cowboys made have made former offensive coordinator Kellen Moore the scapegoat for the way their season ended, but the 34-year-old former NFL quarterback already has plenty of interest from teams needing a new OC.

Moore interviewed for a head coaching job with the Carolina Panthers before they hired Frank Reich, and according to reports from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, he’s already drawing interest for coordinator jobs with the Los Angeles Chargers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Other teams with offensive coordinator openings include the Baltimore Ravens, Tennessee Titans, and Washington Commanders.

Cowboys offensive rankings under Moore:

Total offense: 1st (2019); 14th (2020); 1st (2021); 11th (2022)

Passing offense: 2nd (2019); 8th (2020); 2nd (2021); 14th (2022)

Rushing offense: 5th (2019); 17th (2020); 9th (2021); 9th (2022)

Scoring offense: 6th (2019); 17th (2020); 1st (2021); 4th (2022)

Dallas averaged 354.9 yards of total offense, 219.8 yards passing, 135.3 yards rushing and 27.5 points per game this season even with quarterback Dak Prescott missing five games with a thumb injury. The Cowboys led the NFL in scoring in 2021, averaging 31.2 points per game and totaling a franchise-record 530 points.

However, the Cowboys offense has struggled in their last two playoff losses—both on last-minute drives to the San Francisco 49ers. Dallas totaled just 307 yards of total offense and 17 points in last year’s defeat and 206 yards of total offense and 12 points in its loss two weeks ago.

Prescott completed just 57 percent of his passes for 378 yards with three interceptions in both games.
