Myles Garrett: Steelers' loss may have 'opened the door' for Browns to win the AFC North

The Cleveland Browns are having their best season in recent memory and thanks to the Washington Football Team, they may have a chance of winning the AFC North for the first time this century.

The 9-3 Browns are now just two games behind the Pittsburgh Steelers, who lost their first game of the season Monday night against Washington, in the divisional standings. And that fact was not lost on Browns pass rusher Myles Garrett, who said on Twitter that the loss may have "opened the door" for Cleveland to win the division.

With only four games left, catching the Steelers will be no easy task for the Browns, but they do have the advantage of facing off against Pittsburgh in the final week of the regular season. If the Browns are able to gain ground by then, there is a chance they could be playing for the division in their matchup against the Steelers.

The Browns have been plagued by mediocrity for the last several decades, having only reached the postseason once in the last 20 years. Since 2002, Cleveland has been absent from the playoffs entirely, which is why this year has been such a breath of fresh air for one of the most tortured fan bases in all of sports. Even if the Browns are unable to catch the Steelers to win the AFC North, they are still in prime position to reach the postseason, as they currently hold the no. 5 seed in the AFC playoff standings.
