Throughout the 2023 season, hip-drop tackles were very controversial, with many calling for them to be banned. However, there were also many players who were against that. That includes New England Patriots safety Jabrill Peppers.

Yet, the NFL made the final decision on Monday, banning the hip-drop tackle.

Peppers first spoke out against this idea December, stating that "It’s football, man."

However, now that the news is official, Peppers had a lot more to say. And he didn't hesitate to go on a tangent on X, formerly known as Twitter regarding this new rule.

Here is everything Peppers had to say:

"I don’t understand how the players have no say so in any of these rule changes. While they’re at it, they need to change the name of whatever we playing cause this isn’t football anymore."

"Kickoffs, can’t hit QBs to hard/can’t land on em. can’t hit WRs to hard/ it’s a flag if it looks bad. Banning a “hip drop tackle” We know what we sign up to do. Owners are just tired of their stars getting hurt playing a dangerous game. Most of these changes favor the offense."

"Yes I’m pissed off, soft ass league they got me in. Cant even play like the guys I grew up idolizing. Just put flags on us and everyone can play til they’re 40"

"NATIONAL FLAG LEAUGE see we wouldn’t even have to change the acronym."

"Chop blocks and low cut tackles can also do the same. Are those banned? It’s football bro, you have to be okay with the fact you can possibly be injured. It’s a violent collision sport, we aren’t bird watching."
