Jaquiski Tartt officially joined the Philadelphia Eagles after signing a one-year deal.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

He will compete for a starting role with Anthony Harris and Marcus Epps.

By the looks of it, Tartt might be able to unseat one of them in a position that can prove to be the team’s Achilles heel.

But even though Tartt will be moving on, he did not forget to thank the San Francisco 49ers organization.

He tweeted, “I want to thank the York family and everyone in the 49ers organization for all the love and memories in that building…It’s been a fun ride for 7 years. I wish the organization nothing but the best moving forward!”

Tartt played his first seven NFL seasons with the 49ers, playing 80 games with 64 starts.

He had 344 total tackles, 18 pass deflections, four sacks, and four interceptions with the NFC West squad.

The former Samford standout could have been the hero of last season’s NFC Championship Game if not for his dropped interception against the Los Angeles Rams.

He owned up to the blunder and will have a fresh start in Philadelphia.

Eagles Continue To Make Intelligent Moves

Tartt’s addition proved that general manager Howie Roseman isn’t done with tinkering with their roster.

It has been a busy offseason for the Eagles which has helped improve their talent level.

On offense, they now have A.J. Brown lining up with Quez Watkins and DeVonta Smith.

On the other side of the ball, they’ve also added Haason Reddick and James Bradberry.

Rookies Jordan Davis and Nakobe Dean could also deliver a significant impact.

Things are looking up for the Eagles as they try to make the playoffs for a second consecutive year.
