The Jacksonville Jaguars have been involved in trades already before the new league year starts. According to ESPN's NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Jaguars and New England Patriots are finalizing a trade to send quarterback Mac Jones to the Jaguars.

The deal can become official when the new league year starts on Wednesday.

A lot of fans are scratching their head at this trade, but it makes perfect sense. The Jaguars needed a backup quarterback, and they went and got one for cheap, along with a guy who has won some games in the NFL as a starter.

According to Jonathan Jones, the Jaguars were the only and best offer the Patriots received, which was a sixth-round pick.

The best part about this is that the Jaguars are giving Mac Jones a shot when it seemed no one else would, and that's even cooler when you realize he is from the Jacksonville area, as that's where he played his high school football.

The Jaguars now have a good backup quarterback behind Trevor Lawrence.
