The New England Patriots drafted Kayshon Boutte out of LSU in the sixth round of the draft. The team is hoping they got an absolute steal. A 2021 ankle injury followed by some subpar seasons caused him to fall in the draft. However, the talent is clearly there and Boutte is motivated to prove the doubters wrong.

New England Patriots Kayshon Boutte Is Motivated

“I’m motivated more than ever now,” Boutte told reporters shortly after his being drafted by New England. “I have to focus on myself … put in the work every day to get back to where I want to be.” The good news for Boutte is the opportunities should be there. The receiver room is not crowded in New England and is begging someone to take control of the WR1 spot. If he is able to emerge in training camp and the preseason, he could find his way on the roster. It is often difficult for day-three picks to make a huge impact but the talent certainly is there for Boutte.

Can The Patriots Compete In A Loaded AFC East?

The division is brutal. The Bills are a Super Bowl favorite with Josh Allen. The Jets made a big splash in landing Aaron Rodgers and the Dolphins have a ton of speed with Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill. The consensus is the Patriots are the fourth-best team in the division. This is mostly due to the lack of playmakers on the offensive side of the ball. Every other team has a dynamic wide receiver and New England simply does not have that.

The New England Patriots are hoping that Kayshon Boutte can become the dynamic receiver the team has been looking for. He will be a player to watch during training camp and the preseason.
