Tom Brady is indeed making a return to the New England Patriots this offseason. The future NFL Hall of Fame quarterback said this week he’d be open to playing for the Patriots or another league team for the upcoming season if the NFL would let him play and have ownership in the Las Vegas Raiders.

The New England Patriots are bringing Brady back

While Brady’s future on the field is apparently up in the air, his legacy with the Patriots is not. Per a statement on the Patriots website, the team is set to induct Brady into their Hall of Fame on June 12. The event will happen in between the Patriots’ final practice of OTAs in June and July’s training camp– the perfect time for Brady to return:

“On June 12, 2024, Tom Brady will become the 35th person to be inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame presented by RTX. For the first time, the Hall of Fame ceremony will be hosted inside Gillette Stadium to accommodate as many fans as possible. The ceremony will be held the evening of June 12, 2024, from 7:00 – 9:30 PM.

Patriots executives chose the 12th day of the sixth month as two of the numbers most often associated with Tom Brady’s Patriots career; his six Super Bowl championships and his iconic uniform number, 12. Season Ticket Members will be offered first priority to purchase tickets. If available, a general public onsale will be in late April.”

On Friday morning, the Patriots made an announcement for their fanbase before the ceremony. They announced, “Tom Brady is coming back,” and have a link for fans to sign up to attend the event.

Could Brady play as a Patriots Hall of Fame inductee?

Since Brady retired following the 2022 postseason, he isn’t eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame until 2028. If he returned to play in the league this season, he’d have to wait another couple of years before he’s enshrined in Canton. While Brady won’t play in the league as a member of the Pro Footballer Hall of Fame, it would be cool if he played for New England this season as a member of the Patriots’ HOF.
