The Buffalo Bills are looking like a strong candidate to score the best wide receiver on the current NFL trade block.

Buffalo’s offense has long been the strength of the team because of the excellent play of quarterback Josh Allen and star receiver Stefon Diggs. Nevertheless, the offense could certainly improve a few areas, and it seems the Bills have identified getting Allen a second strong target as an objective this offseason.

Arizona Cardinals receiver DeAndre Hopkins has been on the trade block for some time as the team looks to get out from under the $33 million he is owed over the next two seasons. While there have been various teams reportedly interested in the three-time All-Pro’s services, it has all just been rumor and speculation on who has the best chance to land him in a trade.

On Thursday, KPRC 2 Houston Texans insider Aaron Wilson reported that the “Hopkins trade market is headlined by Bills,” and “financial expectations might impact any further interest from the [Kansas City] Chiefs.” He also revealed that the Baltimore Ravens, surprisingly, are not among the bidders for Hopkins.

All but one of Hopkins’ Pro Bowl seasons came during his seven-year run in Houston with the Texans. Wilson likely still has sources in the Hopkins’ camp from his days covering him as a Texan.

Gabe Davis served as a solid WR2 for the Buffalo Bills last year, but Hopkins — even at 30 — would still be a significant upgrade at the position for the team. The Bills may not have strong opposition for a deal with the Chiefs, Ravens and recently the Browns not looking like legitimate contenders in the chase.
