The New Orleans Saints have signed another quarterback. With the move, they will have four quarterbacks on their roster entering the 2024 NFL Draft.
The Saints signed QB Kellen Mond, according to the team.
Mond has only been a backup option so far in his NFL career. He joins Nathan Peterman and Jake Haener as the quarterbacks behind starter Derek Carr.
Mond's only regular season action came in 2021. He completed two of three attempts for the Minnesota Vikings. In 2022, he was on the Cleveland Browns roster. Last year, he was with the Indianapolis Colts as a backup option.
Now, he will fight for the backup job behind Carr. He and Peterman are the two vet options, while Haener is a younger choice to be the backup. Expect the Saints to keep two QBs on the active roster and one on their practice squad.
