The New York Giants will be without their top two quarterbacks for now. Daniel Jones suffered a season-ending torn ACL in his right knee in Week 9 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Backup Tyrod Taylor suffered a rib injury in Week 8 against the New York Jets. The Giants placed Taylor on injured reserve before Week 9 and will miss at least four games.
Head coach Brian Daboll won’t commit to Tommy DeVito as their starter. There is one quarterback that could be the starting quarterback. His name is Jacob Eason.

The Indianapolis Colts drafted Jacob Eason in the 4th round, 122nd overall in the 2020 NFL Draft. Eason signed a 4-year, $4,027,264 rookie contract with Indianapolis, which included a $732,264 signing bonus and $732,264 guaranteed.
Eason was the third-stringer behind Philip Rivers and Jacoby Brissett. He did not get any playing time in his rookie season.
Eason came into his second season in competition with 6th-round pick Sam Ehlinger for the backup spot to Carson Wentz. Eason won the backup job entering the 2021 season. Wentz got injured during the end of the game in Week 2, and Eason filled in for Wentz. He was 2/5 for 25 yards and one interception. Indianapolis waived Eason on October 19, 2021.

Seattle claimed Eason off waivers on October 20, 2021. Eason served as the backup to Geno Smith when Russell Wilson was on injured reserve with an injury to his right middle finger. Once Wilson returned to the lineup, Eason got demoted to the third-string role. Eason didn’t appear in any games during his tenure with Seattle.
Seattle released Eason on August 20, 2022.

The Carolina Panthers signed Eason to the practice squad on August 31, 2022. He was elevated to the active roster on October 12 after Baker Mayfield got injured. He came in to relieve P.J. Walker in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams. He went 3/5 for 59 yards and one interception. Carolina released him on November 7.
Eason was with San Francisco for a short time.
The San Francisco 49ers signed Eason to the practice squad on November 15, 2022. they released him on January 3.
Eason’s second stint with Carolina.
Carolina signed Eason to a reserve/future deal on January 24. They waived him on May 18.
Eason signed with the Giants practice squad.
The New York Giants signed Jacob Eason to the practice squad on November 7.
Eason is a possibility a quarterback. He has experience as a backup QB in the NFL. If their starting quarterback struggles, he could be elevated and get reps under center.
New York has a difficult decision not just this season but in the future.
