Following a major letdown in year one with the New York Giants on a massive contract, wide receiver Kenny Golladay is starting to show some frustration. In the Giants’ first preseason game last week, Golladay picked up where he left off from last season with a discouraging drop that led to more criticism.

During yesterday’s practice, on only the second play of team drills, Golladay had a ball from Daniel Jones knocked out of his hands by Adoree’ Jackson. It led to some emotion being vented by Golladay. He picked up the ball he let go of and slammed it with his hands before launching it.

Golladay elaborated on the frustration shown in practice from the play, “I went down there and grabbed it, and Adoree’ just came and made a play and made it into a little fumble.”

The New York Giants need more from their $72 million receiver:

The struggles continue to mount for Golladay. He reportedly has not had the most inspiring camp this summer. His lack of big plays on the practice field for the Giants, along with mental lapses, has been evident.

Golladay spoke about his lack of involvement and how he stays upbeat, “I accept that as a challenge and just figure out other ways that I can pop – at least on the tape. If that’s me blocking 30 yards downfield, that backside block so Saquon can go, or me blocking for Wan’Dale, or me just winning the one-on-one matchup I have”.

Luckily for Golladay and the Giants, it is still early. Nonetheless, after a rough start in 2021, Golladay should feel the urge to be more impactful for his team, which can be shown by his frustration from yesterday. The Giants need Golladay to improve and provide some sort of consistency based on the huge contract they gave him.
