The Chicago Bears are poised for significant changes in 2024 compared to the previous year.

One of the most prominent transformations will be seen at the quarterback position following the departure of Justin Fields through a trade.

This move suggests that the Bears are eyeing a quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming draft, with Caleb Williams projected as the choice.

Typically, when a team secures the No. 1 overall pick, it signals a multi-year process of rebuilding and reshaping the roster.

However, the Bears have been proactive in offseason roster adjustments, streamlining the rebuilding process.

As Nick Wright noted on "First Things First," “This is where he [Williams] is best set up to succeed.”

In addition to significant free-agent additions, the Bears have also benefited from a favorable schedule for the upcoming season.

Wright emphasized this by pointing out, “Who were the worst teams in football last year? The Bears play all of them.”

Wright highlighted the potential for a favorable season by examining the Bears’ non-divisional opponents, including matchups against the Tennessee Titans, New England Patriots, Washington Commanders, and Carolina Panthers.

While the performance of these teams in 2024 remains uncertain, if their 2023 seasons serve as any indication, the Bears could be in for a promising debut season for Williams, should he join the team.

While acknowledging the challenging NFC North competition, Wright suggests that the rest of the Bears’ schedule presents more manageable matchups.
