Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott suddenly faces an uncertain future with his club, which has some questioning whether or not he will be traded. Could the Atlanta Falcons step in and make a move for him?

Former NFL center and current ESPN analyst Jeff Saturday thinks it would be a great idea, particularly if the Falcons end up landing Bill Belichick as their next head coach.

“The Atlanta Falcons. Go in there with the papers today,” Saturday said on ESPN’s Get Up. “You have plenty of talent. Hopefully, Bill Belichick is going to be the coach, or someone is going to be in there to turn it. They play good on defense, they have weapons on offense, and you’re talking about a guy who’s going to walk in and command that type of energy.”

The question, would the Cowboys seriously consider trading Prescott?

Say what you want about Prescott’s playoff shortcomings, but he is coming off of a season in which he led the league with 36 touchdown passes. He also threw for 4,516 yards while completing 69.5 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 105.8.

Quarterbacks like Prescott don’t grow on trees, so even though he is 2-5 in the playoffs and had a rather nightmarish outing in Dallas’ Wild Card Round loss to the Green Bay Packers, it would probably take a lot for the Cowboys move him.

Prescott is entering the final year of his deal and cannot be franchise tagged. He also has a no-trade clause, so Dallas can’t just send him anywhere even if it wanted to.

There are a lot of moving parts that would have to fall in line for any deal involving Prescott to manifest, so the chances of it happening seem slim to none.

But if the Cowboys do field trade offers for Dak Prescott, the Falcons would certainly represent a rather intriguing destination.
